While Cyprus is famous for its gorgeous beaches, sapphire blue seas and cultural treasures, there’s a lesser-known reason to visit this sunny Mediterranean island.
You can experience a rejuvenating spa treatment in the very place where Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of beauty, was born!
Whether you opt for a healing holiday in a beachside resort or a wellness retreat in a mountain village, spas in Cyprus are authentic, unique and unforgettable.
They make this island the perfect place for a spa vacation!
Why Choose Cyprus for a Spa Vacation
My wife and I moved to Cyprus in 2017 as expats from Canada and have never looked back. The mix of culture, history, weather and way of life in Cyprus suits us perfectly.
While we love the island’s beaches, traditional food and year-round festivals, a big part of our experience here has been to rejuvenate in the country’s spas.
Many are quite unique and unlike anything you’ll find anywhere else.
To help you tap into the blissful side of the island, I’ve created a list of the best spas in Cyprus to add to your travel plans.
I’ve grouped them into spas in the mountains, city spas and hammams (steam baths).
1. Casale Panayiotis Traditional Village Hotel and Spa
After many years abroad John Papadouris returned to his ancient mountain village of Kalopanayiotis (Google Map) to find it slowly dying as people moved to the cities to find work.
So he decided to build a hotel and spa incorporating many of the traditional houses and streets into its architecture and design.
The success of Casale Panayiotis Hotel and Spa revitalized the village inspiring many locals to open shops, restaurants and attractions.
Set in the Troodos mountains, the largest mountain range in Cyprus, this breathtaking resort consists of 41 guest rooms from studios to luxury suites.
The hillside complex is spread across seven houses and features restaurants, cafes and communal areas.
Its onsite Myrianthousa Spa itself offers a wellness journey through a thermal circuit that includes a hydrotherapy pool, sauna, herbal steam room, an ice cabin, mint ice mist, and tropical rain and foot baths.
Their massage therapies include a private mud cabin, luxurious facials, massage, light therapy, chocolate wraps, a traditional ancient sulphur bath ritual and many more.
As expected given its mountain setting, the views from this Cypriot spa are fantastic.
But the entire experience from the expertly prepared traditional food of Cyprus to attentive service make this luxury resort worth every penny.
We loved it so much we came back a second time!
More than just a spa, this is a unique experience that will relax your body and enrich your soul.

The cuisine is healthy with the emphasis on regional ingredients such as the local honey. The holistic therapies cover a wide variety of massage including sulphur jet and underwater.
Some of their wraps and peels are very unique. The facility includes a heated outdoor pool, a communal living room with fireplace, a bar, 61 units and 7 villas with private pools and jacuzzis.

Spa Etiquette in Cyprus
When visiting a spa in Cyprus, it’s worth considering spa etiquette to ensure the best experience for yourself and others.
While some of the norms and customs are similar to those in other parts of Europe and the Middle East, there are important differences from spas in North America.
So, it’s worth keeping these etiquette tips in mind.
Arrive on Time
Punctuality is valued in Cypriot culture. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for check-in.
What to Wear
Most spas provide robes, slippers, and disposable underwear for your comfort during treatments. Wear your bathing suit if using spa facilities like pools or saunas. Nudity is not the norm in public spaces.
Shower Before Treatments
It’s customary to shower before your spa treatments. This also helps prepare your skin for therapies. The CDC has hot tub rules for safe and healthy use.
Tipping
Tipping in Cyprus is appreciated. If you’re satisfied with the service, it’s customary to leave a tip of 10-15%.
Cell Phone Use
To maintain a serene atmosphere, keep your cell phone on silent or vibrate mode.
Respect Quiet Spaces
Spas are sanctuaries of relaxation. Speak softly and avoid loud conversations in common areas to respect others’ tranquility.
Health Conditions
Be sure to disclose any health conditions or allergies to your therapist before treatments. This ensures your safety and allows them to tailor the experience to your needs. Check with your doctor before seeking spa treatment.
Keep Hydrated
Drink an adequate amount of water before and after your treatment. Skip caffeine and alcohol. Opt for herbal teas and water infusions instead.
