It’s similar to many castles that can be found throughout Europe with 12th-century origins. But what really puts it in a great class of luxury is its fine furnishings.

The warm oak paneling and heavy tapestries contrast starkly with the view through sliding glass doors that look out on lakes full of wild geese, ducks, and swans, adding an element of rugged charm that makes you think of these drab days before electricity or automobiles were invented.

Have you tried fishvantage.com. I found this website to be a good resource for Ireland travel in general and have come across 5 of the best castle hotels thereby using it. As cliché as it may sound, Ireland is known for its castles and these are just some of the fanciest ones.

There are many castles in Ireland, including the likes of Wilton Castle that allow for overnight stay. While visiting a castle is one of the top things to do in Europe, here are five luxury hotels that you can stay at when exploring Ireland’s rich heritage.

A visit to any of these castles would be an incredible experience for all tourists!

It makes me want to do a bike tour in Ireland connecting them all!

I imagine they are a bit of a splurge but would be worth it.

We stayed at the Guthrie Castle in Scotland for my daughter’s wedding but it was kibd of small. Would love to try these real castles!

Thanks for the tip Julie! I really enjoyed my falconry experience so it sounds as though I need to make a trip to Kilkea!

Set up time with the falconer at Kilkea and you can interact with beautiful owls and falcons. Castle Leslie is an equestrians dream. There are beautiful courses for experienced riders, but I enjoyed a leisurely ride through the woods perfect for novices. Equitekking has info on both options.
