In reply to Mike Francis. Thanks for the correction Mike...this slipped past me in editing too. You're quite right..they're grape vine leaves. It would be near impossible to use an olive leaf to wrap anything!

You made a mistake my friend with your koupebia part of the article.

These are made with vine leaves and not olive leaves. They can also be made with cabbage leaves or the flowers of courgettes. Other stuffed vegetables are also used.

What a delicious post! It brings back wonderful food memories from my recent trip to Greece (where there are so many similarities like moussaka and souvlaki) and is a great guide for what to sample when we travel to Cyprus someday. Good tips about places to eat, too.
