In reply to Yvonne. Hi Yvonne Mother-Daughter trips are wonderful. Such a great way to spend quality time together. Both Spice Island and Silversands are on Grand Anse beach which is closer to most attractions and somewhat easier for swimming than Magazine beach ( Royalton). It's also best for long walks.Spice Island you can walk directly from your villa directly onto the sand while Silversands is elevated so there are views. The pool is deeper and better for swimming at Spice Island than the one at Silversands which is long but not especially deep ( unless you get a private villa). Silversands is glamorous while Spice Island is elegant with more tropical landscaping/privacy and I'd say offers more to do and more dining options. Either one would be fabulous for your getaway! Thank you so much for this informative article. My daughter and I do a mother and daughter trip each year. This year we plan to do Grenada and your information has us leaning toward Spice Island and Silversands. I’m also keeping Roaton Grenada Resort and Spa in the back of my mind. For a mom / daughter trip which do you think is best? We love the beach, spa, we are foodies, love to be pampered for this trip, water acitivites, and some fun. Thanks so much for your tips.

It looks like you can’t go wrong staying at any of these hotels. But if I had to pick, I’d choose the Calabash Boutique Hotel because of its English breakfast and afternoon tea, not to mention hammocks on the beach. Wish I were going sometime soon!

I spent a day in Grenada a few years ago and absolutely loved it so I’d like to go back one day. This is a great list of hotels for every taste – for me I think self catering with proximity to transport and other facilities would be the priority.
