Glad to hear the honeybees are alive and well in Merida! I’ve never heard of Xtabentum before, but sure it’s a flavor I would love and now will be on the hunt for a bottle! The wall art of Freida at El Pipiripau Cantina is fabulous!

I’ve not heard of Xtabentún before and I’d like to try it. With the honey base, I assume there might be some similarity to mead wines and liqueurs I have tasted. But the anise would certainly add a different twist. I like anise .

I would love to stay at Rosas & Xocolate. I had them on my radar when planning my own trip to Merida (of course because of the chocolate name!) but it somehow didn’t pan out. Another reason to revisit this fascinating city and learn more about the Xtabentún. I already BBQ with honey bourbon, so I can imagine the honey liquer would be fabulous.

HI Carol…that’s fantastic you were able to find it so easily. It’s delicious with tonic too! Let me know what you think of it!

I love liqueurs. Gotta try it now.
